Kolkata, Jun 6 (UNI) Describing today's Bangla bandh as a 'farce', the Congress asked the Trinamool Congress to come out clear on its relation with the BJP.
''The Trinamool Congress has kept everyone confused over its political stand. Let the party specify clearly whether it is still with the NDA or not,'' senior Congress leader Subrata Mukherjee said.
Mr.Mukherjee said today's Trinamool-SUCI sponsored 12-hour bandh was 'illogical and irresponsible' while the strike observed by the ruling Left Front yesterday was an act of 'hypocrisy'.
He said observing repeated bandhs would have an adverse impact on industrialisation in the state. ''Observing a bandh has now become the main objective of these parties and the issue of hike in fuel price has become secondary,'' he said.
Claiming that the Centre had no other option but to increase the fuel price, Mr Mukherjee said the Pradesh Congress Committee would launch a campaign programme tomorrow to convince the people on the necessity of the price rise.
