Machilipatnam(Andhra Pradesh), Jun 6: The bodies of three more people, who were swept away in the Bay of Bengal yesterday at Gilakaladini, near here, yesterday afternoon was recovered after being washed ashore this morning.
Police said six members of a family, including three children and two women, were pulled into the sea by tidal waves when they ventured for a swim.
The police, with the help of swimmers, had fished out the bodies of Razwi (45), Afrin Begum (12) and Zaheeda Begum (42) yesterday and were conducting search operations for the bodies of Noorunnisa (32), Roshani (8) and Moin (12).
The tragedy occurred when 14 members of a family led by Razwi, a jeweller, went on a picnic to the beach at Gilakaladindi.
Around noon when they ventured into the sea for a swim they were swept away by the strong currents.
The bodies were handed over to the relatives after postmortem, police added.
