BJP ruled states to take measures to neutralise price hike
Jaipur, Jun 6 (UNI) The BJP led-government states, including Rajasthan, are expected to announce relief measures to neutralise the effect of hike in prices of petroleum products, BJP spokesperson Prakash Javadekar said today.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Javadekar said party president Rajnath Singh had spoken to Chief Ministers of six BJP ruled states over telephone yesterday and asked them to take all possible measures to neutralise or minimise the effect of hike in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG effected by the UPA government at the Centre on Wednesday.
The announcement of measures which include withdrawal or reduction in tax and/or cess on these products, was expected in next two days.
However, Mr Javadekar said that it was not fair on part of the Congress led UPA government at the Centre to effect a hike and expect the state governments to bear burden to neutralise the effect.
The Congress and Left parties' led governments in some states have already announced measures to neutralise the impact of hike effected by the Centre.
