Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, Jun 6 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today said the State Government will absorb the entire hike of Rs 50 in the price of LPG announced by the Centre.
Speaking to reporters here, Dr Reddy said this would benefit about 1.05 crore LPG consumers in the State.
Supporting the Centre in its decision to increase the prices of petrol, diesel and LPG, Dr Reddy said it was taken due to unavoidable circumstances.
He said the Chief Secretary would meet representatives of oil companies for drawing guidelines on providing subsidy on LPG.
On bus fare hike, Dr Reddy said the State Government would keep in mind the interests of the common man.
The Chief Minister said by June 30 an ex-gratia of Rs 5,000 would be paid by the State Government to those farmers who repaid crop loans and did not come under the Centre's loan waiver Scheme.
Dr Reddy said six irrigation systems would be modernised at an estimated cost of Rs 15,000 crore.
