Kohima, Jun 05: Two more NSCN-IM cadres were killed in an inter-factional clash at the Signal Colony of Dimapur town, increasing the toll from the violence among the rival outfits of the NSCN to 14 so far.
Official sources said here today that altogether 12 cadres of the GPRN/NSCN were killed and four others injured in the clash that occurred in Xelhozhe (Kelhozhe) village in Dimapur town in the wee hours yesterday.
Later, in a separate incident at Signal Colony last evening, unidentified gunmen opened fire on three NSCN-IM cadres.
Two of them died on the spot, while the third one was seriously injured and admitted to hospital.
Meanwhile, the NSCN-IM claimed that it had recovered 12 weapons from the slain cadres of the GPRN/NSCN.
In a separate statement, the GPRN/NSCN claimed that 13 activists of the NSCN-IM were killed in yesterday's clash.
Yesterday's incident was the second major attack on the GPRN/NSCN camp after May 14.
