Shiv Sena, BJP, CPM protest hefty rise in petroleum products
Aurangabad, Jun 5 (UNI) The activists and office-bearers of Shiv Sena, BJP and Left parties took to the streets in the city today to protest the hefty increase in petrol, diesel and LPG prices by the UPA Government at the Centre.
The women's wing of Shiv Sena staged a demonstration at Kranti Chowk. Later they took out a morcha, in which they shouted slogans against the Central Government.
The agitation was led by the Sena (women's wing) district chief Savita Kulkarni and its district organiser Sunita Bhaulwar.
The members of Communist Party of India (Marxist) local unit also staged a demonstration at Paithan Gate area today, protesting the steep increase in petroleum products. The agitation was led by its senior leaders Uddhav Bhavalkar, Laxman Sakrudkar and Damodhar Mankape.
Similarly, the local office-bearers and activists of BJP cooked 'bhakri' in front of district collector to protest the increase in petroleum products.
City BJP unit president Atul Save, Mayor Vijaya Rahatkar, Bhausaheb Tathe and Bhagwan Ghadamode led the agitators.
The office-bearers of BJP (women's wing) told UNI that the cooked meal would be sent to Prime Minister through post.
