Mumbai, Jun 5 (UNI) All India Port and Dock Workers' Federation will review the current unrest among the workers and chalk out the future course of action to secure justice for them on June 11.
Federation President S R Kulkarni today said here the Ministry of Shipping had failed to implement several agreement arrived at between Indian Ports Association and the recognised federation of port and dock workers, which had created unrest amongst the workers.
In a letter to the ministry, Mr Kulkarni pointed out the issue like payment of enhanced amount of productivity linked reward (bonus) consequent upon amendment of the Bonus Act, which the Indian ports Association and the representatives of major ports had recommended to the government to suitably amend the agreement governing payment of bonus to the port and dock workers.
Mr Kulkarni also stated about the issue of interim payment relief to the port and dock workers. The management of major ports had agreed to grant 13.5 per cent interim relief to port and dock workers, pending revision of wage or pay structure with effect from January one, 2007.
