Paswan asks PM to act on missing persons in J
New Delhi, June 5 (UNI) Lok Janshakti Party leader Ram Vilas Paswan today urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to take expeditious action to locate missing persons in Jammu and Kashmir and stop the alleged harassment meted out to people of the state by police and intelligence agencies.
In a memorandum submitted to the Prime Minister, Mr Paswan who toured the state for three days from June 2, also highlighted the issue of unemployment prevailing in the state and giving preference to the local youth in the railways and power projects coming up in the state.
Mr Paswan told the Prime Minister that his during interaction with the people of the state, they highlighted the issue of alleged harassment by police and intelligence agencies meted out to Kashmiris living outside Jammu and Kashmir or travelling for the purpose of schooling, employment or trade.
The minister had interacted with a large number of people during his visit to the state and listened to their problems and conveyed their grievances to the Prime Minister during a meeting here today.
