Hyderabad, Jun 5 (UNI) The opposition TDP, BJP, Left and TRS organised dharnas at different places in Andhra Pradesh today, protesting the hike in petroleum products' prices.
Senior TDP leader, former Minister and Secunderabad MLA T Srinivasa Yadav, along with TDP workers, staged a dharna in front of the South Central Railway (SCR) station, demanding that the Government roll back the prices.
Mr Yadav said the TDP would continue the agitation till the Government conceded their demands.
When the vehicular traffic was blocked for more than two hours, police arrested Mr Yadav along with the TDP workers.
The BJP city leaders, along with party activists, participated in a dharna at Mehedipatnam area where the women activists cooked food on the road and organised novel agitation by towing the cars, tying them with a bullock cart.
The Left parties - CPI, CPM, MCPI and CPI (ML) New Democracy - organised demonstration at RTC Crossroads, demanding that the Government reduce the increased fuel prices immediately.
A report from Karim Nagar said TRS women activists organised 'rasta roko' in the town for more than three hours to protest against the UPA's alleged 'anti-people' policies.
