Nickel, Tin, copper wire bars

Mumbai, June 5 (UNI) Prices of nickel cathode, tin slab, brass utensils and copper wire bars in non ferrous metals segment today rallied on sustained buying support by industrial users on bullish advice from London Metal Exchange (LME), Kolkata, Delhi and southern regions, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said here.

In the ferrous metals category (per quintal), copper heavy, copper utensils and brass utensils rose by Rs 100 each on good buying support by local dealers, induced by encouraging advices from Delhi, Indore, Kolkata and other centres.

In the non-ferrous metals category (per quintal), copper wire bars gained by Rs 100 while nickel cathode and tin slab went up sharply Rs 30 and Rs 20 per kg respectively in line with copper in the ferrous segment.

But aluminium ingots and zinc slab prices crashed steeply by Rs 100 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively on sluggish demand by big dealers in the face of better ready stocks, traders added.

Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 37,100, copper utensils - Rs 33,100, brass utensils - Rs 25,000, brass cuttings - Rs 26,200 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,300.

Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 40,700, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,600, zinc slab - Rs 11,500, lead ingots - Rs 11,200, tin slab - Rs 1,110 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,190 per kg.
