Mob attacks Loksatta editor's house in Thane
Thane, June 5: A group of people calling themselves as workers of Shiv Sangram attacked the Kopri residence of Kumar Ketkar, editor of leading Marathi daily Loksatta, on Thursday morning.

attack
took
place
in
protest
against
the
stand
taken
by
him
in
his
editorial
on
Wednesday
against
the
Maharashtra
government's
move
to
install
a
statue
of
Maratha
warrior
Chhatrapati
Shivaji
in
Arabian
Sea
off
Marine
Drive
in
south
Mumbai.
Eearly
60
to
70
workers
of
Shiv
Sangram,
a
little-known
Hindu
organisation,
arrived
at
the
ground
floor
residence
of
Ketkar
at
around
10.30
am,
smashed
the
window
panes
and
smeared
the
place
with
tar.
They
also
tried
in
vain
to
break
into
his
place.
Apart
from
the
stand
taken
by
Ketkar,
the
agitators
were
also
protesting
against
the
"language" used
in
the
editorial.
