Haryana to release Rs 71 cr for extention of Delhi Metro to Gurgaon
New Delhi, Jun 5 (UNI) Haryana Government has decided to release Rs 71 crore for extension of Delhi Metro to Gurgaon out of the fund for development of major infrastructure projects in Haryana.
A decision to this effect was taken in a meeting of High Powered Committee constituted to monitor the fund for development of major infrastructure projects in Haryana yesterday, under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda.
It was revealed in the meeting that the liability of Delhi-Gurgaon Metro was Rs 141.75 crore during the current year and out of this, a sum of Rs 71 crore would be given from the fund as the annual installment to be paid to Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Ltd. and it was expected that Delhi-Gurgaon Metro project would be completed by January, 2010.
It was also apprised in the meeting that during 2008-09 and 2009-10, the part expenditure will be met out of the accrual in the fund and the balance will be shared by the State Government, HUDA and HSIIDC in the same ratio in which the contribution was made for the year 2006-07.
The remaining amount of Rs 70.75 crore would be shared between the State Government, HUDA and HSIIDC.
Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Mr M L Tayal opined that the fund created under the development of major project be incurred on the big projects so that maximum benefit could be derived by the people of the State.
