Bangalore, June 5 (UNI) Former Prime Minister and Janata Dal (Secular) National President H D Deve Gowda will lead a protest march in the city tomorrow to protest the hike in petroleum products.
The protest was against the Centre as well as the Karnataka Government, which had allegedly declined to reduce the Sales and other state taxes so that the burden on common man could be reduced, JD(S) General Secretary Y S V Dutta said in a release here today.
The rally beginning from JD(S) office would culminate at Rajbhavan and a memorandum would be submitted to the Governor Rameshwar Thakur.
JD(S) had welcomed the move by West Bengal and Kerala government to reduce the local taxes on Petrol, Diesel and LPG.
"It is pity that the new BJP government in Karnataka has taken an adamant stand not to reduce the tax," he added.
