Congress has written its own 'epitaph' by hiking fuel prices: Advani
Pune, Jun 5 (UNI) Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha L K Advani today said the Congress had written its own ''epitaph'' by signing its death warrant with the steep hike in prices of petrol, diesel and LPG.
Calling the hike in fuel rates as ''absurd and unaffordable'', Mr Advani, while interacting with reporters here, said the economic crisis was a result of mismanagement, corruption and politics of opportunism, which is the nature of the coalition alliance.
The hike in fuel prices could have been managed systematically, he opined.
''For those who had forgotten to burn wood and taken to gas cylinders, the hike will be unaffordable,'' he said.
The Congress had shown insensitivity to the common man, he claimed, adding, it had written its own ''epitaph''.
Mr Advani was in the city for the centenary celebration of Pune Vidyarthi Graha, an educational institution running junior colleges, engineering and printing courses for economically-backward students.
On the occasion, he felicitated Ms Gangutai Dhamankar, who donated Rs one crore for future projects of the institution.
