TRS chief fails to turn up for party executive meeting
Hyderabad, Jun 4 (UNI) Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekahra Rao, who submitted his resignation yesterday, did not attend the party's state executive meeting here today to take a decision on his resignation letter.
Party sources said Mr Rao did not attend the emergency executive meeting, presided over by senior party leader and former minister and MLA Captain Laxmikanta Rao.
The TRS chief had assured a party delegation that he would attend the meeting.
He had submitted his resignation, owning moral responsibility for the TRS' defeat in the May 29 byelection in which the party secured only seven out of the 16 Assembly seats and two of the four Lok Sabha seats. The bypolls were necessitated following the resignation of four TRS MPs and 18 sitting MLAs.
