Silver, gold open low: Bombay Bullion Association

Mumbai, Jun 4: Values of the spot silver and gold today resumed lower at Rs 23,705 per kg, a major loss of Rs 115, and Rs 12,125 per ten gm for standard mint gold, a loss of Rs 190, from their last finish owing to weaker advices from Asian markets coupled with poor demand from jewellery makers, traders at the Bombay Bullion Associaton said here.

Silver (999 finesses grade) crashed by Rs 115 per kg, while standard mint gold and pure gold also rose by Rs 190 per ten gm each, from their last finish, on sustained heavy offers by stockists in view of discouraing advice from global markets.

In Asian and London markets, gold was quoted down in a range of USD 876.70/877.20 per troy ounce against USD 893.30/895.50 previous day and silver also touched a low at USD 16.67/16.69 per troy ounce as compared to USD 16.87/16.89 per troy ounce from its last close, reflecting a downward trend in the domestic prices, traders added.
