Rupee moves up at 42.52/53 per USD

Mumbai, Jun 4: The Rupee today gained strength against US Dollar to move up at 42.52/53, rising about eight paise, from its previous close of 42.60/61 per USD on the expectation of domestic retail fuel prices.

The domestic currency appreciated against the greenback as banks liquidated their dollar holdings ahead of an expected increase in retail fuel prices and traders watched the stock market to gauge foreign fund flows, dealers said.
