Orissa govt to introduce e tendering
Bhubaneswar,Jun 4 (UNI) In a bid to maintain transparency,the Orissa government today decided to award work above Rs 50 lakh to contractors through e-tendering.
Initially the E-tendering system would be introduced in four departments-- Works, Housing and Urban Development, Water Resources and Rural Department which accounted for 90 per cent of the total work.
IT Secretary P K Mohapatra said the process would start from July two with the technical support of NIC.
Mr Mohapatra said IT department would act as the nodal department for implementation of the system following the success of e-tendering system taken up on a pilot basis.
He said gradually the tender for the works of other departments would be made through e-tendering and later to be extended to the purchases of goods.
