Int'l Ramlila fairs in MP
Bhopal, June 4 (UNI) In the first endeavour of its kind in Madhya Pradesh, the state government will organise international Ramlila fairs here, at the ancient temple town Ujjain and the citadel town Gwalior, state Culture Minister Laxmikant Sharma said today.
''The Bhopal event will get underway on June 6 and conclude on June 14. Bharatiya Janata Party President Rajnath Singh will be chief guest and Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan would be among those present,'' he said at a press conference here.
Troupes would be from Cambodia, Bali, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Singapore, Java, Laos, Kerala and Uttar Pradesh. The Ujjain event would be from June 7-15 and the Gwalior event from June 9-17.
Sri Lanka's Arushri Art Theatre would perform on June 8, Singapore's Bhaskar Art Academy -- June 10, Java's Jogiya Tourism Board Group -- June 11, Royal Ballet Theatre Group -- June 12, Kerala's Madhu Margi Group -- June 13. The Bhopal event would conclude with a performance by Ayodhya's Avadh Adarsh Ramlila Mandli.
