Bangalore, Jun 4 (UNI) Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa today came down heavily on the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre for the increasing the prices of petroleum products.
''The hike is nothing but adding salt to the wound suffered by the people due to sky rocketing prices of essential commodities'', Mr Yeddyurappa told newspersons here.
He said it would increase in the prices and people of middle and lower classes would be the worst-hit.
''Common people who are already battered by the rising inflation will face severe problem, he added.
Mr Yeddyurappa was, however, evasive when asked whether his government would reduce the Sales Tax on petroleum products following the hike in the prices of petroleum products by the Centre.
