Goa Governor, CM condolence Gurudas Gawas's death
Panaji, Jun 4 (UNI) Goa Governor S C Jamir, Chief Minister Digamber Kamat and Assembly Speaker Pratapsingh Rane have expressed grief over the untimely death of MLA Gurudas Gawas.
Mr Jamir, in his condolence message, said Gawas was a man of admirable foresight and political acumen, who strived dedicatedly for the progress and well-being of the state and its people. He was a widely respected public figure, who possessed remarkable virtues and rare human qualities and his demise is a great loss to the state, the Governor said.
The Chief Minister, in his condolence message, said Gawas's untimely death had created a void in political circles, as Gawas was a young, dynamic, secular Congress legislator, who served his constituency with a vision to make it a model constituency. Goa has lost an eminent citizen, a committed legislator and a great human being, Mr Kamat added.
Meanwhile, Mr Rane in his message, said the state has lost a promising legislator, with the death of Gawas.
Former Union law minister Ramakant Khalap said Gawas was a pillar of strength to the Youth congress as well as the parent party. He has left behind a great legacy of public work and void, which will not be easily filled, Mr Khalap added.
