Aizawl, Jun 4(UNI) A motorcycle was set ablaze today at Hnahthial and eleven boxes of gelatin grabbed from Border Road Task Force(BRTF) camp in separate incidents, police said.
The bike owner had come to Hnahthial from Sangau village a few days before the Hnahthial district demand activists called an indefinite road block. The activists would not let him leave and detained the bike which was set ablaze this morning, Hnahthial police OC told UNI here over phone.
The activists called the indefinite blockade on NH 54 from Monday after Chief Minister Zoramthanga's 'promise' to upgrade Hnahthial to a district status 'fell flat' in the Cabinet meeting.
On Monday night, a pick-up truck was torched as the driver 'defied' the bandh.
Meanwhile, unidentified activists took away eleven boxes of gelatin from the BRTF camp last night, police said.
Officials have arranged diversion bypassing the town in order to prevent the entire southern Mizoram from facing the economic blockade.
