Shimla, Jun 4 (UNI) Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Prem Kumar Dhumal today said the Centre had sanctioned a sum of Rs 348 crore to the state under the National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (NREGA) for this year.
The money has been sanctioned for four districts of Chamba, Kangra, Sirmuar and Mandi districts of the state under NREGA for carrying out developmental projects, he said last evening after his arrival from Delhi.
Mr Dhumal said the scheme had been extended to all districts of the state from April one, this year, following its implementation in two districts of Sirmaur and Chamba in the state to begin with.
The scheme was later extended to Mandi and Kangra districts of the state in the second phase, he said and added that it would benefit the rural poor.
