Jammu, Jun 4 (UNI) Police today arrested three people and seized an arms consignment, intended for the assassination of Dera Sacha Sauda chief Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh, at Kanachak in the city outskirts of Jammu and Kashmir.
Acting on specific information, police intercepted a car bearing registration number of Chandigarh near village Doomi in Kanhachak early today. '' During frisking, police recovered arms and ammunition from the vehicle and arrested all the three (passengers in car),'' Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP), Jammu, Alok Kumar told mediapersons.
He said the consignment, including five Chinese pistols, one AK rifle and rounds, was being carried to Barnala in Punjab to assassinate Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh alias Baba Ram Rahim.
During preliminary investigations, Mr Kumar said, the accused revealed, besides killing of Baba Ram Rahim, Piara Singh, resident of Ropar, also a famous 'Guru', was also on their hit list.
The trio, identified as Malkit Singh, Harbans Singh and Surjeet Singh, had come all the way from their native place Barnala to collect the assignment, the SSP said.
Suspected links of arrested people with Khalistan Zindabad Force (KZF) are also being investigated.
''It is premature to say at this stage but we are working on all theories to look into their possible links with KZF'' the SSP added.
