Best terrace chants of football season unveiled

By Staff

London, June 3 : Now that the football season is over, a list of the favourite terrace chants has been compiled.

And making it to the list is the one by Newcastle fans who have switched around the words of The Beatles' song 'Let It Be' so that it sounds like: "When we find ourselves in times of trouble, Kevin Keegan, comes to me. Speaking words of wisdom, Geremi!"

Also finding a place on the list is the chant by Leeds fans, reports The Telegraph.

Their chant, sung to the tune of Kaiser Chiefs' 'Oh My God' goes: "Oh my God I can't believe it, we've never been this good away from home!"

However, not all chants are corrupted versions of pop favourites.

West Ham fans like to take a poke at their London rivals Fulham by chanting: "Does your butler know you're here?"

Nottingham fans single out Doncaster Rover's afro-sporting midfielder Jason Price by shouting "There's only one Tina Turner" at.

A player taking part in a penalty shoot-out at half time in the Man Utd vs Aston Villa game is greeted by: "His wife always dreamed of a hunky fireman, but all she got was a chunky tyre-man."

And, fans are not the only ones who get into the action, for stadium announcers sometimes join in, like the one at Plymouth's ground who said: "There's a mustard-coloured Peugeot in the car park, registration XXXXXXX. You've left your windows open. Chances are if your car is a mustard colour you want it to be nicked, but just to let you know."
