Sehwag plans to take Daredevils to Dubai, England

By Staff

New Delhi, Jun 3 (UNI) While Shane Warne plans to take his Indian Premier League's (IPL) champion side, Rajasthan Royals, to his state Victoria, Australia, for friendly matches, Delhi Daredevils captain Virender Sehwag has came up with similar plans to tour Dubai and England with his side.

Talking to mediapersons here today, Sehwag said, ''The idea is in the initial stages , but we are planning to play some matches in Dubai and England.'' Sehwag, who led his team to the semi-finals of the IPL, said his experience of playing in the Twenty20 tournament was one of the best of his career and leading some international stalwarts was an honour for him.

''We had a very good bonding in our team. It was an honour leading greats like Glenn McGrath, Daniel Vettori and Shoaib Malik.

''It was good fun playing in the IPL. We had no pressure and we all gave our best. When you give your 100 per cent the result will take care of itself,'' Sehwag added.

However, the dashing opener, who scored 406 runs in the IPL, denied that the emergence of Twenty20 cricket will have any effect on the other two formats of the game.

''Over the course of 44 days we just played 14 matches, and that too for just three hours each. It cannot cause any concern to the Tsets and ODIs.

''On the other hand, it was an amazing experience to compete and share the same dressing room with some of the great players of the world,'' he added.
