Naxal leader surrenders at Gandhinagar
Hyderabad, Jun 3: A naxal leader of the CPI (ML) Praja Prathgatana party today surrendered before the Karimnagar district Superintendent of Police (SP) Y Gangadhar, about 200 km from here.
Police said Praja Prathigatana party Secretary of Khammam and Karimnagar districts N Srinivas, alias Chandranna, surrendered before the SP along with three weapons due to ill health and disillusionment with the extremists' ideology.
The naxal leader, who joined the party in 2001, handed over one SLR, one Spring Field rifle, a .32 pistol, 50 rounds of SLR, 50 rounds of spring field and 5.32 rounds of ammunition along with one camera and party literature to the police.
He was involved in nine activities, including exchange of fire with the police and other offences.
