Fabio Capello recommends Scolari for Chelsea job

By Staff

London, June 3 : England manager Fabio Capello has recommended Portugal boss Phil Scolari to succeed Avram Grant at Stamford Bridge

SunSport revealed that Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich asked the England boss for his views on who should succeed Avram Grant.

And Capello had no hesitation in putting forward Scolari - who led Brazil to World Cup glory in 2002.

Abramovich has called a summit for tomorrow to decide who will get the nod.

Two othwr favourites are Frank Rijkaard and Roberto Mancini, who were highly recommended by AC Milan coach Carlo Ancelotti in Geneva last week.

Ironically, both were offered the job before when Chelsea were seeking a replacement for Jose Mourinho 15 months ago.

Scolari and Mark Hughes are the other two candidates - though neither has Abramovich's support.
