Taliban to kill villagers accepting biscuits from UK troops
London, June 2 : Taliban warlords have threatened to kill villagers accepting biscuits from British troops deployed in Afghanistan.
The insurgents have warned the locals that they will be strung up if so much as take custard cream from foreign soldiers, The Sun reported.
"Nobody is allowed to go into the infidels' quarters for their pathetic biscuits. Anyone caught will be hung from the trees or expelled from the village and have their property confiscated," a Taliban commander in Afghanistan's Helmand Province said in his terse message.
"We know children and even elders are going to them for biscuits, and to chat like they were their relatives. They should be ashamed. The day that anyone gets caught will be the last day of their life," he added.
British troops learned of the threat after locals told Afghan soldiers they were too terrified to attend meetings about rebuilding the area.
