Kathmandu, June 2 : Nepal's Home Secretary Umesh Prasad Mainali has said that the security arrangements at the Narayanhiti Palace are at a bare minimum.

"It was not like what we imagined. It was unmanaged and bare minimum," Mainali told reporters after inspecting the palace.

Mainali said that they have only taken stock of security rings as of now.

A team led by Mainali had inspected the royal palace to arrange for its security as the palace is shortly coming under the government purview once former King Gyanendra moves out.

The government is planning to convert it into a Nepal National Museum, Nepalnews reported.
