Bhopal, June 2 (UNI) In the wake of massive raids by the Income Tax department over alleged irregularities in the Health department, Madhya Pradesh Health Minister Ajay Vishnoi today submitted resignation to Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan.
The resignation comes three days after IT sleuths conducted raids including at the premises of his brother Abhay Vishnoi -- who is posted at the Madhya Pradesh State Small Industries Corporation's Jabalpur office.
Talking to UNI over telephone, Mr Vishnoi confirmed that he has tendered his resignation and media would get copies of his resignation soon. However, he refused to divulge further details.
On May 30, IT sleuths had raided more than 50 premises of about 25 people including Secretary (Home) Rajesh Rajora, Director (Health) Ashok Sharma, other senior officers, a former bureaucrat, builders and contractors.
Mr Rajora sent his resignation to Chief Secretary Rakesh Sahni on the same day.
Mr Vishnoi did not disclose the reason but it was being believed that he took the step on the directions of party central leadership.
