CM to open Kerala School of Mathematics
Kozhikode, Jun 2: Chief Minister V S Achuthanandan will inaugurate Kerala School of Mathematics (KSM), an institution for higher learning, training and research in mathematical sciences, at a function here tomorrow.
Jointly promoted by Department of Atomic Energy and Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment (KSCSTE) at a cost of Rs nine crore, the KSM would be developed into an Indian Institute of Mathematical Sciences in due course, KSCSTE Executive Vice President E P Yesodharan told reporters here today.
He said the KSM would be the second centre for higher studies in Mathematics, the first being in Mumbai.
Industries Minister Elamaram Kareem would preside over the function while Water Resources Minister N K Premachandran would deliver the keynote address, he added.
