Bhopal, Jun 2 (UNI) On the second anniversary of Under private public participation, the Bhopal City Link Limited (BCLL) has geared up to start new mini metro bus service on 200 routes of the state capital besides existing star buses on October 2, its second anniversary.
BCLL Managing Director Nikunj Kumar Shrivastav said in a press conference that tenders have been invited and applications would be submitted on June 20.
''New routes will be decided after a productive talks with the private bus operators,'' he said.
He said the ambition behind this plan was to boost the urban transport service and to curtail operational expenses. The services of new metro buses would be equal to star buses.
''The major portion of the income earned from advertisements in buses, monthly pass and ticket will be provided to private bus operators,'' said Mr Shrivasatv, adding that 39 buses were being plied in 12 routes of the city.
He said in order to minimise the transport expenses the inner parts of the buses would be used for advertisements and the monthly pass system would be made more effective.
''The route permit for the mini metro bus service will be given by the BCLL,'' he added.
