TRS Chief mulls resignation; workers attempt suicide
Hyderabad, Jun 1 (UNI) Two Telangana Rashtra Samiti (TRS) activists allegedly attempted to commit suicide in front of TRS President K Chandrasekhara Rao's residence following his reported decision to resign from the post owning moral responsibility for the party's poor performance in the by-elections.
TRS sources said leaders were trying to convince the party supremo not to take the 'extreme' step as the party had won seven Assembly seats and two Lok Sabha seats on its own, as against one MP seat each won by the Congress and TDP and six Assembly seats by the Congress and four by the TDP in Telangana region.
As television channels telecast the news of Mr Rao's reported decision, the two TRS activists doused kerosene over their body and attempted to immolate themselves.
However, party leaders prevented them from taking the extreme step.
