Thief beaten to death at Nashik

Nashik, May 31: A thief was beaten to death by security guard and workers of the company, where he had gone with intention of robbery.

The deceased, Jaigopal (34), who was resident of Jail Road here, had entered the premises of Panchavati Valve Private Limited in Ambad MIDC area of the city in the wee hours yesterday. When the security guard saw this, raised a alarm.

The guard and four workers of the Company manhandled the thief in which he died. A case has been registered under section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) with Ambad Police.

The accused, security guard Namdeo Yelmame (70), workers -- Shikdi Mallah (35), Vinod Vishwakarma (35) and Ajitkumar Vishwakarma -- were arrested.

Another accused, Daulat Gaikwad (23) who lived in Chunchale area, went absconding.
