Jagannath temple priests to get more money
Puri, Jun 1 (UNI) The priests of Sri Jagannath temple will get more money for their daily services, the temple committee decided this at a meeting held here today.
The meeting chaired by the Puri King Gajapati Divyasigh Dev approved a 20 per cent hike in their daily remuneration with retrospective effect from March this year.
The servitors rendering daily service in other temples in the Sri Jagannath temple complex would also get the benefit.
The meeting also resolved to install a coin vending machine in the temple for the benefit of the pilgrims.
The chief administrator of the temple S N Sarangi, energy secretary SC Mahapatra, commissioner endowments, district magistrate RR Pattnaik and SP Asit Kumar Panigrahi besides members of the temple body were present at the meeting.
