Shimla, Jun 1 (UNI) Day temperatures fell by a few degrees across Himachal Pradesh today due to thick cloud cover since this morning even as the night temperatures remained stationary.
The day temperature at Shimla town fell by three degrees to stand at 22.5 degrees following 1.7 mm rain during the day.
The maximum temperature at Sundernagar fell to 32.9, 33.4 at Bhuntar and 22.4 at Kalpa in the tribal district of Kinnuar, the met office said.
Una town recorded a four degrees decline in its day temperature, which plummeted to 35.6 degrees, providing a little relief from the scorching heat.
The met office said the famous tourist resort of Dharamshala recorded a slight increase in the day temperature to 32.8 degrees.
The minimum temperature at Shimla town remained almost stationary at 16.8 degrees, while Sundernagar, Bhuntar and Kalpa recorded night temperatures of 18.8, 13.8 and 7.4 degrees respectively.
Dharamshala recorded a night temperature of 20.1, Mandi 18.6, Nahan 20.8 and Una town 21.8 degrees Celsius.
Overcast conditions were prevailing over Shimla town and other adjoining areas with the Sun peeping through the clouds at intervals. By evening the clouds had thinned out considerably.
The met office has forecast rain or thundershowers at few places in the state during the next 24 hrs.
