Cong denies collaboration with SP in parliamentary election
Pratapgarh, June 1 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Congress legislature party leader Pramod Tiwari today dismissed any possibility of ''tying up'' with the main opposition Samajwadi Party in the state for the coming Lok Sabha election.
Talking to mediapersons here, Mr Tiwari said, ''No such talks are in progress, neither we wish to do it.'' Stressing upon the criteria of reservation, the congress leader said reservation was the need of the hour not only for the backward classes, but also for the people of Upper class, who were financially weak.
He said Muslims and other people belonging to upper castes, who are not economically strong should be given reservation.
Unleashing vitriol on the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati, he said instead of focussing on developmental works, the CM had engaged herself in making parks and monuments.
Parks and other such places should be made, but not at the cost of development, he underlined.
