Mumbai, Jun 1 (UNI) The Board of Control for Cricket in India has made elaborate plans to celebrate the silver jubilee of India's only triumph in World Cup by holding a felicitation function in New Delhi on June 22.
BCCI president Sharad Pawar said here the world cup winning captain Kapil Dev, who now has associated himself with rebel Indian Cricket League (ICL) will be invited for it.
''The felicitation function for the members of the 1983 World Cup winning team will be held at Taj Palace in New Delhi on June 22,'' Pawar said here after a book launch programme.
''Yes, Kapil Dev will be invited to attend it as he was the captain,'' Pawar said when specifically asked whether the great all-rounder, who has aligned himself with the ICL, will be invited for the function.
Two other members of the world cup winning Team, who are also associated with the rebel league, Madan Lal and Balwinder Singh Sandhu, were also invited for the grand celebration.
