Southwest monsoon has advanced over Coastal Karnataka and few more parts of South Interior Karnataka upto Chitradurga, Vellore and Chennai. Rainfall occurred at many places over Interior Karnataka and at a few places over Coastal Karnataka. Heavy rainfall amounts (cm): Bangalore 7.
Other chief amounts of rainfall (cm): Ankola, Karwar 6 each; Kottigehara 5; Ranebennur, Hanumasagar 4 each; Tarikere, Kudathini 3 each; Kushtagi, Hungund, Narayanpur, Deodurg, Virajpet, N.R.Pura, Bangarpet, Parasurampura, Chikkanahalli 2 each; Kota, Banavasi, Sirsi, Haliyal, Bangalore Airport, Chitradurga, Gulbarga 1 each.
Maximum Temperatures changed little and was normal over North Interior Karnataka, Raichur recorded the highest maximum temperature of 40.6 degree Celsius over the State.
Forecast valid until Tuesday morning: Rain/thundershowers likely to occur at many places over Coastal Karnataka and South Interior Karnataka and at a few places over North Interior Karnataka.
