25 including some women injured in police action in north Kashmir
Baramulla, Jun 1 (UNI) At least 25 people, including some women, were injured when police burst teargas shells and resorted to baton charge to disperse demonstrators in north Kashmir today.
Official sources said villagers of about four villages at Rafiabad took to streets demanding irrigation facilities for their respective areas.
The demonstrators, raising anti-government slogans, blocked the main roads alleging that they were deprived of the irrigation facilities by the authorities when other villages in the same area were being provided such facilities.
When the demonstrators refused to disperse police fired teargas shells and resorted to lathi charge.
