Tyde, Dalvi to lead Maharashtra teams in senior nationals

Pune, May 31 (UNI) Long-distance runners Sandeep Tyde of Amravati and Reshma Dalvi of Pune will lead a strong 23-member team to take part in the senior national and inter-state athletic championship slated to be held at Madurai from June 15 to 18.

Maharashtra Amateur Athletic Association (MAAA) secretary general Pralhad Sawant, while announcing the squad here today, said Mr U L Saini will be the coach while Raju Kulkarni and Gurbans Kaur will be the managers for the men's and women's teams respectively.

The teams were finalized after a two-day state meet, beginning May 28, at the Baburao Sanas Sports Stadium here.

Following are the teams: Men: Sandeep Tayde (Capt), Ganesh Satpute, Deepak Basarkar, Shoaib Sayed, Anish Kargutkar, Krishnakumar Rane, Santosh Kumar, Sunil Kumar, Sandeep Parmar, Anil Ainapure, Rakesh Kumar, Subhash Suryawanshi, Hargovind Rai.

Women: Reshma Dalvi (Capt), Sushila Siddhi, Hema Bhanga, Anupama Patil, Medha Pardeshi, Supriya Adak, Swati Zende.

Managers: Raju Kulkarni (Men) and Gurbans Kaur (Women).

Coach: Mr U L Saini.
