Rahul to be chief guest in finals of Rajiv Gandhi tournament

Lucknow, May 31 (UNI) Congress general secretary Rahul Gandhi would be the chief guest in the final face-off of the Rajiv Gandhi Rural Twenty20 cricket tournament, which would be played in his parliamentary constituency Amethi on June 2.

Master blaster Sachin Tendulkar, cricketers Mohammad Kaif, R P Singh, Pankaj Singh, Priyanka Gandhi Vadera and her husband Robert Vadera would also be present during the finals.

Congress chief spokesperson Akhilesh Pratap Singh said here today that the final match of the competition would be played at Ambedkar stadium, Amethi, on Monday.

The Rajiv Gandhi Rural Twenty20 cricket tournament started on April 15 last, in which 1,857 teams of Amethi participated.

Altogether 1,819 matches were held at 131 grounds.

Mr Singh said the teams represented from the level of the panchayats to Blocks.
