Minister demands inquiry in MLA thrashing case
Patna, May 31 (UNI) Bihar Food and Civil Supply Minister Narendra Singh today demanded that senior BJP-JD(U) leaders inquire into the allegation levelled against him by BJP MLA Phalguni Yadav that he had thrashed Mr Yadav during a public function in Jamui recently.
Mr Singh told newspersons here that Mr Yadav had levelled such allegations against him as he was envious of his growing popularity in the area during the past few years.
''I was not involved in assaulting Mr Yadav during a public function in Jamui and all such allegations against me were concocted and baseless,'' Mr Singh said adding Mr Yadav had slipped from the platform due to overcrowding and minor scuffle among some local leaders present on the occasion.
''I have already informed about the incident to the Chief Minister and he is also seeking facts from various sources at his own level,'' the minister said adding he had also reported the matter to BJP president Rajnath Singh.
An inquiry by the senior BJP and JD(U) leaders would unravel the truth, he noted.
