London, May 31 : A British man, who sneaked into a woman's bedroom, woke her up, and stole her underwear, has been banned for life from approaching women after drinking alcohol.

Andrew Allan entered the woman's home after getting drunk and stole four pairs of her panties "as a trophy". Falkirk Sheriff Court heard that he wanted to use the knickers "for sexual gratification".

Just three years earlier, Allan, 34, was released from a four-year jail sentence for raping a woman in her hotel bedroom, also after getting drunk.

According to the court hearing, in the latest incident, on 8 May, Allan crept uninvited into the home of a 38-year-old woman in Grangemouth.

After entering her bedroom, where she lay sleeping, Allan woke her, then stole her purse and four pairs of her knickers, before sneaking out again.

Later, he also used her Visa card to steal 300 pounds, reports the Scotsman.

Allan, of Grangemouth, admitted theft and breach of the peace.

Sheriff Neil MacKinnon imposed a Sexual Offences Prevention Order after ruling the knicker theft was a crime "with a significant sexual element".

The order prohibits Allan for life from "from approaching any females who are not known to him whilst under the influence of alcohol and using sexualised and/or threatening behaviour towards them".

It bans him from drinking anywhere other than in his home or being under the influence of alcohol in public.

He must also get approval of the chief constable of Central Scotland Police before taking up any new employment.

Allan cannot even approach the court to get the order varied for 10 years.
