Indian teams for Isreal and Emerging Players tournament announced

New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) Parthiv Patel and Jaydev Shah were today named as captains of the teams which will represent the country in the forthcoming series and tournaments in Israel and Australia respectively.

An Indian team will travel to Australia to participate in the 2008 Emerging Players tournament which will be held from July 14-26 while another will tour Israel for a three-match one-day series from July 10-16.

Wicketkeeper-batsman Patel will lead the team to Australia.

Promising middle-order batsman S Badrinath, who is playing for the Chennai Super Kings in the ongoing DLF Indian Premier League (IPL), will act as his deputy.

Delhi Daredevils players Shikhar Dhawan and Amit Mishra, India U-19 captain Virat Kohli and Rajasthan Royals all-rounder Ravinder Jadeja are some of the notable members of the squad.

The team visiting Israel will be captained by Jaydev Shah. The team consists of several emerging pace bowlers like Ashok Dinda, Pradeep Sangwan, Vinay Kumar and Rajat Bhatia.

It also includes the new opening sensation from Rajasthan Royals Swapnil Asnodkar and talented Kolkata Knight Riders wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha.
