Jammu, May 31: Hinting at the National Conference and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Party (JKDP) president Ghulam Hassan Mir today said family politics in the state is ''ruining'' the aspirations of the people in all the three regions.

Former state minister and rebel PDP founder member Ghulam Hassan Mir, who launched the JKDP on May 7 in Srinagar while addressing his maiden public meeting here this afternoon said, ''family politics in Jammu and Kashmir has halted an overall development and it has been proved to be futile for all the three regions.'' Hitting back at Abdullahs and Muftis, Mr Mir said civil administration is also under the grip of family politicians. He added, ''we want people-friendly civil dministration for the welfare and overall development of Jammu, Kashmir and Ladakh.''

''People are joining J&K Democratic Party with a mission. A mission of hope, prosperity and welfare, and we want people from all the three regions to unite for the well-being of the state,'' Mr Mir said, asserting, ''for the past 60 years, political parties here, have divided the people on communal, language and caste basis but ours is a party with secularism.'' Assuring restoration of peace and prosperity in the state, the JKDP president said those who are boycotting the coming Assembly polls, should also be invited and involved in dialogue process for peace and prosperity.

''We are here to finish hatred, which was being cultivated since years among people on political basis in the state,'' Mr Mir said.

However, he stressed that the focus should be on youth in pretext to employment and economics for the development of Jammu and Kashmir.
