Vijayawada, May 31 (UNI) The Communist Party of India (CPI) tonight said it would oppose the price hike of petrol and diesel by the UPA government at the Centre.
Addressing a public gathering here, CPI national secretary D Raja said if the Centre will increase the price of petrol and diesel it would be a suicidal move as the Left parties were ready to launch protest.
The party had also asked the Centre not to treat the petrol sector as revenue sector, he said.
He said the Centre should not take the left support for granted.
