Capital punishment to double murder case accused
Thrissur, May 31 (UNI) The District Sessions court today handed capital punishment to a person who was accused in a double murder case.
Sessions Judge B Kemal Pasha in his judgment said the accused Kuruppum Parambil Jayanandan would be a threat to the whole community, if let free from the clutches of the law.
The accused, Jayanandan (39), a native of Mala in the district, murdered a couple Kalappurakkal Sahadevan and his wife Nirmala by beating them on the head when they were sleeping, after intruding into their house in Perinjanam in the district on the night of October three, 2004.
He also looted 12 sovereigns of gold ornaments.
Later, he was arrested and questioned and as per the information given by him the police had recovered the stolen ornaments.
Jayanandan was also accused in seven other murder cases. He was set free by the CBI special court on April 19 last, in another double murder case in Mala in the district.
The judge criticized the CBI's investigation as it had let him free then.
