New Delhi, May 31 (UNI) Doctors at the Army Research and Referral hospital here this evening carried out another medical check-up on Defence Minister A K Antony who collapsed twice during the passing out parade of National Defence Academy (NDA) at Kharakvasla.
The Defence Minister got down from the aircraft on his own which brought him here from Pune and looked cheerful, a Defence Ministry spokesperson said.
He was straightaway taken to the Army R and R hospital in Subroto Park where his personal physician General Matthew carried out a series of tests and check-ups.
The Minister had just finished his speech exhorting the cadets to dedicate themselves to the nation and promise a materially better life, when he fainted.
Mr Antony was administered oral fluids as part of resuscitation and two electric cardiograms were taken.
Both the ECGs were normal and his blood pressure was also normal. Doctors at Pune said this could have happened due to stress.
The Defence Minister had just returned from Berlin after witnessing an air show. After a hectic travelling schedule, the minister had no time to rest before the parade at NDA.
